The hits of Gary U.S. Bonds were and still remain an irresistible invitation to an instant party!. On Monday night the Legendary Friars Club's dining room turned into a huge party. Among the party goers were Rock N Roll royalty Steven Van Zandt and his beautiful wife Maureen. On stage Gary was accompanied by guitarist Mark Leimbach and on vocals, “Big Mama” Laurie Anderson and daughter Laurie Anderson Tobias. Through out the evening his biographer Stephen Cooper guided Gary down memory lane.

In its 114 year life the Dutch Treat Club has had a membership that included, Jimmy Cagney, George S. Kaufman, Walter Cronkite, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein ll, and Presidents Hoover, Eisenhower, Truman, and Ford. The great Broadway producer George Abbot was a member for 52 years when he died at the age of 107. But enough about the past. This year this historic New York City institution which was founded by and for creative people decided to honor someone young, creative and contemporary, so they chose...Marilyn Maye…an artist for every generation.

Bernie Furshpan, operating partner of the Metropolitan Room served up Champagne at a reception to celebrate Julie Budd's Residency at the Cabaret. Lots of show biz friends turned out to congratulate Julie on her "new home". Julie's first show is on May 14th and Richard Skipper her publicist announced the the opening performance is almost sold out.
