Helen Hunt is an American actress and filmmaker. Hunt portrayed Jamie Buchman in the sitcom Mad About You, which earned her three Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
Hunt won the Academy Award for Best Actress for starring as Carol Connelly in the romantic comedy As Good as It Gets. She also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress while her portraying the role of Cheryl Cohen-Greene in The Sessions. Her other notable films include Twister, Cast Away, What Women Want, Pay It Forward, Bobby, Soul Surfer, and The Miracle Season.
Hunt's theatre credits include Viola in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, at Lincoln Center, Our Town, and Life (x) 3.
She reprised the role of Jamie Buchman in the Mad About You revival, which premiered in the form of a limited series, by Spectrum Originals.

OUR TOWN Comes to Syracuse Stage Next Month


Syracuse Stage Artistic Director Robert Hupp and Managing Director Jill Anderson announced the next production in their 2022/2023 season, and it’s one for the ages. Thornton Wilder’s cherished and frequently produced play, Our Town, runs Wednesday, March 29 through Sunday, April 16 at Syracuse Stage in the Archbold Theatre. Robert Hupp will direct the production.
