STARMITES Comes to Open Fist Theatre Company

Time: 1989; Place: Earth and Inner Space. Open Fist Theatre Company presents a new production of Starmites, the Tony-nominated sci-fi fantasy musical that's a comic book come to life. With music and lyrics by Barry Keating; book by Stuart Ross and Keating; direction by Scott Peterman; and music direction by Jan Roper, this joyous, space-age, pop rock adventure is set to save the universe one song at a time beginning June 2 at Atwater Village Theatre, where performances continue through July 8.

One of Walker’s six suburban motel plays, Featuring Loretta offers a special insight into the lives of some of the down (though not necessarily out) people of the world. It presents us with a hilarious snapshot of their lives, seen through the window of their temporary environment: a generic and run-down motel room.

Josh Welsh, President of Film Independent, directly oversees all Film Independent programming, including Bring The Noise: If These Walls Could Sing at The Wallis on May 18. The evening is planned as a celebration of renowned photographer and filmmaker Mary McCartney’s film, If These Walls Could Sing about the many music industry artists who recorded inside Abbey Road Studios in London, which is now streaming on Disney+. The evening at The Wallis will include a live orchestral performance of songs recorded at Abbey Road Studios conducted by Mark Graham, and a Q&A with Mary McCartney moderated by Academy-Award winning filmmaker Morgan Neville.
