Meriden's Castle Craig Players have announced the 1st Annual CT Community Theatre Conference - an event at which they hope to assemble leaders from the many community theatre companies in the state to openly, and, in the spirit of mutual benefit, discuss the issues (and some successes, too!) everyone is facing.

WAKEFIELD IDOL Announced At Contemporary Theater Company

Wakefield Idol is a singing competition featuring local residents vying to win a $1500 cash prize. Contestants sing karaoke-style for the audience and judges, who decide who continues in the competition. There are twelve weeks of competition on Thursdays starting January 27 and all leading up to the finals on April 14, in which the audience votes for the winner.

After a necessary postponement, the Theater Barn will be presenting the world premiere of The Divas, a compilation of one-act plays by Jack Neary. Directed by Michael Ferrara and Paulette Layton, The Divas will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm, February 4th through the 26th, with 2 pm matinees on Sunday, February 13th & 20th.

CT Humanities Awards $16M to 624 Cultural Organizations Statewide

At their recent meeting, the board of directors of CT Humanities (CTH) awarded 624 non-profit museums and cultural, humanities, and arts organizations a total of $16M in CT Cultural Fund Operating Support Grants (CTCFOSG). The CTCFOSG are part of $30.7M of support allocated to CTH over the next two years by the CT General Assembly and approved by Governor Ned Lamont.
