Being single really agrees with Katie Holmes. She looks carefree and more like the girl-next-door we all fell in love with pre-Tom. Not that she didn't look chic and sophisticated while married to actor Tom Cruise. But her haute couture clothing always seemed a bit out of place on her, like she was playing a role. This outfit Holmes wore to tape a segment on Good Morning America is stylish, young and seems natural for Holmes.

Everytime I think I have seen my favorite Sandra Bullock look, she goes and kicks it up a knotch. I don't know how she does it, but she always knocks it out of the park. Where do you go from here? In Sandra's case - better and better and better. This week Sandra looked absolutely stunning in a Stella McCartney black lace dress for the London premiere of Gravity.

I had to pick this picture for today's Fashion Photo of the Day because they always fashionable Sienna Miller is wearing white! It just proves my point from yesterday - there is white everywhere! I don't know what is with this post Labor Day white thing lately and this dress is not even a 'winter white.' Are fashion 'rules' just being thrown out the window? Or is it a bold choice to wear a summery dress in October?

Is it me, or has there been a lot of white lately? I think I have seen more white dresses in the past month than I noticed all summer. Regardless, I am loving it! Julianne Moore looked stun-ning at the premiere of Carrie in a white Givenchy gown.

Dakota Fanning looked stunning and sophisticated at the Louis Vuitton S/S 2014 show during Paris Fashion Week. I am usually not a fan of a sheer overlay maxi dress but this Louis Vuitton dress is definitely the exception. It is so cool how the dress looks like a sheer dress over a sheer dress - almost like Fanning is wearing a neglige under lace, but not in a trashy way. Top that with different criss-crossing piping and the dress is just beyond amazing.

Emma Watson has done it again. The young starlet looked stunning at the premiere of Gravity in New York City in a white J Mendel dress. Watson always keeps me guessing as to what she will wear next - from prim and proper to edgy and outrageous. This dress falls somewhere in the middle, but that middle, is a great place to be: chic and sophisticated.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was hot to trot on the streets of Paris. Rosie looked chic and sleek decked in black, showcasing some of fall's must have trends: leather, booties and animal print. Done done and done. Rosie effortlessly mixed and matched designers, textures and fabrics to create this stunning ensemble and I am a little bit obsessed (and want it all).

I am so excited that Kim K is back in fashion action! Kim made her first official debut since giving birth to daughter North West this past June. Kim walked hand in hand with beau Kanye West as the two entered the Givenchy S/S 2014 runway show in Paris Sunday night. Kim wore a stunning black dress created for her by Riccardo Tisci. There is a lot going on - the high slit, peplum waist and sheer neckline. But somehow Kim manages to make it all work. Did you ever doubt it?

I saved my favorite for last of the Emmy Award red carpet pics: Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I know it is a cliche but she really does get better with age...like a fine wine...ok that's enough of that! But come one, doesn't she look FAB? This Monique Lhuillier gown is the epitome of awards show sophistication and glamour and Julia styled it to perfection by leaving everything else simple.

Claire Danes dressed to win at Sunday night's Primetime Emmy Awards. To me, an Armani Prive dress means business- serious fashion business! Danes hit the red carpet with grace and elegance and a chic faux bob to boot! I think I may have actually gasped when I saw the faux bob.

Allison Allison Allison. You are so gorgeous and I love your chic, classic fashion sense. But, and I am so sorry there is a but, I find this Ralph Lauren dress to be almost too simple. Do I think she looks beautiful? Yes. Is the dress stunning in it's simplicity? Yes. That's not my issue. It's her styling.

I decided to choose a look from Sunday night's Emmy Awards that I am still on the fence about: Kerry Washington. Washington, usually one of my go-to fashionistas, chose a very romantic Marchesa gown. Washington said in one of her red carpet interviews that she knew it was the one after seeing it as the finale dress in Marchesa's S/S 2014 runway show. Wait wasn't that like two weeks ago? Wow, nothing like leaving things until last minute.

There was so much awesome fashion from last night's 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, that it was very hard to pick just one person to feature. I loved almost all of the gowns except for a few odd choices I could have lived without (sorry Zosia Mamet). But let's get back to the pretty dresses! There was so much color, so many cutouts, so many daring nude/pastel choices that I decided it was impossible to chose to just Fashion Photo of the Day. So get ready, each day this week I will pay homage to one of my favorite dressed stars from TV's biggest night.

All of the winners have been announced, the celebrating is over and now its time to get to business: the best dressed women of The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards! Let's be real, a lot of people tune in to just see the pretty dresses. Last night's red carpet was no exception!

I am having a moment with this Christian Dior dress on the always gorgeous Natalie Portman. I am so in love with everything about this dress I don't even know where to begin. I have to be honest, I went to the collection of photos from last night's New York City Ballet Fall Gala to feature another actress' look. But then I saw this photo and it stopped me in my tracks. Sorry not sorry about it!

Wowza! Blake Lively is lookin' goood! Lively knows how to walk that fine fine line between sophisticated and sultry. It is hard to make a skin tight, sleeveless leather dress chic, but if anyone can, its Lively. Of course she had help - mainly Gucci - who did a superb job designing this dress from their S/S 2014 collection. Let's break it down piece by piece.

I love a great classic outfit and to me there is nothing better than some skinny pants, a white t and a blazer. In fact, it's my go-to on many occasions. Plus the options are endless with the thousands of denim variations these days (leggins, skinnies, coated, etc..). I love Rebecca Romijn's take on the classic ensemble: black leather pants (yes please!), white t and a red cropped blazer.

I love Malin Akerman's sexy and sophisticated style and think she always dresses her slim, atheltic figure perfectly. But I am a little on the fence about this vintage Victor Costa dress the star wore to Sunday night's Primetime Creative Emmy Awards. I am all for vintage pieces and this one in particular is a great find. But, the same element that makes the black dress interesting is the same element that makes it a bit of a head scratcher: the ruffle.
