Alan is a second year undergraduate Marketing Student at York University in Toronto, Ontario and the Senior Editor of BroadwayWorld Toronto. He has always had a passion for theater and has performed in various community theater productions and continues to work on his triple threat skills. Alan also has 11 years of intensive dance training under his belt, and was the recipient of a Canadian national title in 2006. Alan first wrote about theatre online at his blog, called Broadway Toronto, before starting to write about that same topic for BroadwayWorld. Will Flashdance be the Mirvish Mystery Musical playing Toronto in December/January 2013? The show, which has three Canadians on it's creative team was announced to play Toronto in 2012, but that fell through. The new tango-focused stage show playing Toronto's Panasonic Theatre is passionate, sexy, and incredibly original. The title character, Arrabal, loses her father as a baby after he is arrested by the military. Chilina Kennedy has had to withdraw from the 2014 season for the happiest of reasons: she and her partner, Jacob James, are expecting a baby. She was to play Polly Baker in Crazy for You and Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, but she is now unable to undertake two such physically challenging roles. Ms Kennedy remains a valued member of the Festival family, and plans are underway to include her new concert as part of the 2014 Forum.
