Photo Flash:Nancy and Beth (Featuring Megan Mullally and Stephanie Hunt) Make Cafe Carlyle Debut
by BWW News Desk - May 2, 2018

Nancy And Beth (featuring Megan Mullally and Stephanie Hunt) make their Cafe Carlyle debut, May 1-5. The self-described punk-showbiz band has been praised by NPR's All Things Considered as 'musical misfits,' and 'as sharp as any revivalist act going today' by The Los Angeles Times. In a review of their self-titled debut release, Rolling Stone noted 'It wouldn't be fair to call it a purely comedy album - it's too seriously musical and carefully curated for it to be that - but Nancy And Beth wisely doesn't try to disguise the comedic gifts of its creators. Instead, it shows the way Mullally and Hunt can be totally in sync to whip up a unique, coherent vision.' At the Cafe, Megan Mullally (vocals, choreography) and Stephanie Hunt (vocals) will be joined by Datri Bean (keyboards, vocals), Joe Berardi (drums), Petra Haden (strings, vocals), Sophia Johnson (guitar, vocals) and Andrew Pressman (bass, vocals). Photo Flash: Ute Lemper Returns to Cafe Carlyle
by BWW News Desk - Feb 28, 2018

Ute Lemper returns to Cafe Carlyle with an all-new show, Rendezvous With Marlene, February 27 - March 3. Rendezvous With Marlene is based on a 3-hour phone call and exchange between Marlene Dietrich and Ute in 1988. After receiving the French Moliere Award for her performance in Cabaret in Paris, Ute had sent a postcard to Marlene, who had lived at 12 Avenue de Montaigne since 1979, essentially apologizing for all the media attention comparing her to Marlene Dietrich. Ute was just at the beginning of her career in theatre and music, whereas Marlene looked back on a long, fulfilled life of movies, music, incredible collaborations, love stories and stardom. Ute considers it a secret gift to have heard Marlene talk about her life, her work and style, her love for the poet Rilke, her complicated relationship with Germany, her sorrow and her fascinations.
