As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Head Over Heels, the new musical comedy featuring the iconic songs of The Go-Go's - the most successful female rock band of all time - will play its final Broadway performance at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street) this weekend, on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Before it goes forever however, the cast is opening up about the show's important message of love and acceptance. 'Head Over Heels presents a kind of utopian society, where love and authenticity reigns,' says cast member Rachel York. Theatrical rights licensor Broadway Licensing, along with the Broadway producers of Head Over Heels (led by Christine Russell, Louise Gund), today announced the immediate availability of 2019 performance rights for school and youth theatrical programs.

The cast of Head Over Heels will bring their beat to the 2018 Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS! The parade will be broadcast live from New York City beginning at 9 AM EST on Thursday, November 22. Head Over Heels joins previously announced Broadway cast performances by Dear Evan Hansen and King Kong. Kevin Frazier and correspondent Keltie Knight of 'Entertainment Tonight' will host the three-hour television special featuring portions of the 92nd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Emmy Award-winning producers Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss ('The Tony Awards') serve as executive producers; Weiss will also direct.

On Sunday, October 21, the company of the new Broadway musical HEAD OVER HEELS, featuring the music of The Go-Go's, celebrated 100 performances at the Hudson Theatre.  The cast was joined by Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day; American Idiot) at the post-matinee champagne toast next door at Hunt & Fish Club, with a special 'Arcadian' royal cake by Broadway baker, Cute as Cake.

I'd like to propose something worthy of 16th century Arcadia: an Ode in Praise of HEAD OVER HEELS. For those who don't know, last month a new musical, HEAD OVER HEELS, opened on Broadway. The music combines a Renaissance source text, Sir Phillip Sidney's 'The Arcadia,' with the music of the Go-Go's to create an adult fairy tale. Not only is the musical incredibly fun, hilarious, and heartwarming, but it is also incredibly important.
