The Broadway company of the Tony Award-winning, record-breaking hit musical Chicago will welcome James T. Lane in the role of “Billy Flynn”, joining previously announced Jinkx Monsoon as “Matron 'Mama' Morton”, beginning Monday, January 16, 2023 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Next month, 54 BELOW will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond, including solo performances from Tony Award-winners Patti LuPone and  John Lloyd Young and Tony-nominee Tony Yazbeck. See the full lineup below!

'This highly personal story would be nothing without a deep connection to family. Francisca Tapia's (Gloria Fajardo) voice was phenomenal but her acting was so realistic she moved the audience from being slightly annoyed with her to being frustrated when Gloria refuses to speak to her daughter, and finally to empathizing with her as she worries about her daughter's life. She did a magnificent job at being a stubborn, misunderstood, mother. When it is finally revealed that she had given up on her own dreams for the sake of her family the audience was so endeared by her acting they couldn't help but have a change of heart.' BWW.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for The Sound of Music, directed by Mark S. Hoebee. The production will feature Ashley Blanchet (Paper Mill’s Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Broadway’s Waitress) as Maria Rainer, and Graham Rowat (Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen, Sunset Boulevard) as Captain Georg von Trapp.

In each one-hour episode, one extraordinarily talented and eager chef is challenged to go against the trio of Bobby’s handpicked culinary titans – Tiffany Derry, Michael Voltaggio and Brooke Williamson – for a chance to take home $25,000. The stakes couldn’t be higher, as Bobby celebrates and tests the most talented chefs in America.

The co-production with the National Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and York Theatre Royal, in association with Berkeley Repertory Theater, makes its US première at St Ann's Warehouse, New York, on 14 October, before touring to Berkeley Repertory Theater, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and Chicago Shakespeare Theater, with more dates to be announced.
