THE COVID REQUIEM Will Be Performed at Pitlochry Festival in September

Pitlochry Festival Theatre announces it will close its Summer Season with the Première of Jo Clifford and Lesley Orr's The Covid Requiem, a beautiful and poignant new promenade production commissioned by the theatre, which will see a ceremony performed, from the 15-18 September, to mourn and celebrate the  stories  and lives of those lost during the pandemic.

Among the first shows to be back on stage are 2019 hit show Bromance (3 – 29 Aug) – a cutting edge show that wittily explores male companionship and its limits, from experimental acrobatic circus company Barely Methodical Troupe, and Nonsense Room Productions' interactive musical show You Choose (3 – 22 Aug) based on Pippa Goodhard and Nick Sharratt's picture book.

Chekhov's 1886 short play tells the story of Ivan as we meet him at a local Town Hall. Instructed by his wife to give a lecture on the harmful effects of tobacco it comes apparent that she has an ulterior motive and Ivan's lecture quickly becomes a very funny, yet painful, revelation about his life and relationships, laying out his lost dreams.
