The evening featured performances by Disney on Broadway stars Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Sean Palmer (The Little Mermaid), Josh Strickland (Tarzan) and Alan Menken himself. Dick Van Dyke delighted theatergoers when he made a surprise cameo in the LA engagement of the MARY POPPINS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR on January 22. Van Dyke, 84, reprised his smaller film role, that of the crotchety bank president Mr. Dawes, in front of an ecstatic, sold out house at the Ahmanson Theater as part of a charity fundraiser. Directed by two-time Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun, a portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to The Performing Arts Project.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! premiered at Lyric Opera of Chicago Saturday, May 4. The new production, which includes the original choreography by the legendary Agnes De Mille, will have 16 performances (including seven matinees) May 4 -19 at the Civic Opera House, with tickets ranging from $32 to $153. Dolly looks swell as ever as Goodspeed Musicals brings everyone's favorite meddlesome matchmaker to its main stage. Hello, Dolly! will run from June 28 - September 8 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. Official Press Opening will be July 17, 2013.Leading the cast in the role of Dolly Levi will be cabaret diva Klea Blackhurst. Ms. Blackhurst is best known for her award-winning tribute to Ethel Merman, Everything the Traffic Will Allow, which she has performed in venues across the U.S. and in London. She was most recently seen in Happy Huntingat The York Theatre. She also created the role of Miss Lemon in the new musical The Nutty Professor, which premiered this past summer in Nashville.
