A group of theatre producers have joined forces to launch The Theatre Leadership Project, an ambitious nonprofit aimed at providing resources to programs that seek to diversify commercial theatre leadership.

In his first month solo, Host Eli Tokash, dedicated this month to amplifying Black voices and stories bringing on four accomplished guests. Not only are these guests Broadway stars and a stage manager, they all also play a profound role in giving back to the Broadway/Arts Community.

BSMS has announced the five stage managers that have been chosen to receive the first ever Charlie Blackwell Symposium Scholarships for BIPOC stage managers. Each recipient will receive a complimentary pass to the Broadway Stage Management Symposium as well as a personal meeting with the adjudicator who chose them.

Annelise Salazar of San Diego State University and Alex Luong of UC San Diego are two of only 15 students from across the United States selected for the inaugural cohort of The Cody Renard Richards Scholarship Program “honoring, uplifting and supporting the next generation of Black, Asian, Latinx, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) theatre makers.”

Lauren Class Schneider has announced that Arts & Science will offer new COVID-19 safety training courses and certificates for professionals in theatre, events, and beyond. Working with Dr. William L. Daley, Arts & Science is offering classes taught by a faculty of medical, theatre, and event professionals.

This past year has been a time of change for theatre, and one of the organizations leading the charge has been the Broadway Advocacy Coalition- founded by a group of Broadway artists in 2016.
