The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle has revealed the Finalists for its 2025 Season Awards honoring significant achievements in each of the Circle’s season award categories.

The best of Irish playwriting lands at the Barbican in an exciting project. An audience of one steps into a booth blindly for a play they don’t get to choose. Six five-minute one-act shows penned by Enda Walsh, Marina Carr, Mark O’Rowe, Joy Nesbitt, Louise O’Neill and Katie Holly are offered on rotation by one actor for one spectator in a truly unique individual experience. What happens when you remove the social element from a live performance? Does the physiology of theatre alter when you’re alone with it? How does intimacy impact the relationship with a story?

Audible Theater and TOGETHER, will present two additional productions for their 2026 season, directed by Ian Rickson and presented in repertory at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City.

Imagine a space where the boundary between the stage and the stalls simply evaporates. Co-produced by Landmark Productions and Octopus Theatricals, Theatre For One appears at the Barbican Centre this month as part of their Scene Change season. It offers a singular, electrifying encounter that demolishes the fourth wall, leaving only you and a solo performer within a custom-built, intimate booth.

Following a collaboration last year, Audible Theater and TOGETHER will present the return of Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes with Ella Beatty and Hugh Jackman, and directed by Ian Rickson, to launch their 2026 season.
