Perez Hilton

Perez Hilton graduated from New York University in 2000. Before beginning his blogging career, he attempted to work as an actor, served as a media relations assistant for GLAAD, worked as a freelance writer for gay publications, worked as a receptionist for Urban Outings, and briefly served as managing editor of Instinct magazine.

Hilton began blogging in 2004, originally under the name PageSixSixSix.com. The site was later renamed PerezHilton.com. In 2005, the website was named "Hollywood's Most-Hated Website" by The Insider. Hilton's celebrity coverage included the "Personally Perez" and "Listen to This" sections of his blog. His support of emerging musicians included frequent promotion of singer Mika in 2007. In 2008, Terra.com named Hilton "Hispanic of the Year." He continued his work as a celebrity blogger and media personality through PerezHilton.com.

Hilton began appearing on television in 2001, when he appeared in the third-season episode "Fortunate Son" of The Sopranos. In 2004, he competed on VH1's Flab To Fab in the episode "Madonna Style." In 2007, he appeared as a contestant on MTV's Celebrity Rap Superstar and was eliminated in the sixth week. He also hosted a Best of MADtv episode in 2007 and announced on The View that year that he would star in his own VH1 reality series, What Perez Sez, which premiered in September 2007.

His other television appearances included Victoria Beckham: Coming to America, MTV Cribs, Queen Bees, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, Tori Spelling THS and Paris Hilton's My New BFF. He guest starred as himself on Privileged and appeared regularly on TRL, MuchMusic and Extra. In 2008, he co-hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards and accepted an award on behalf of Rick Astley. In 2009, he presented at the MuchMusic Video Awards and appeared on The View. In 2010, he guest starred as himself on Victorious in the episode "Wi-Fi in the Sky."

Hilton created and presented the British television series Perez Hilton Superfan for ITV2 in 2011. In 2012, he appeared as a special guest ring announcer on WWE Raw and appeared on Oprah's Lifeclass at Radio City Music Hall. In January 2015, he competed as a housemate on the 15th season of Celebrity Big Brother and was evicted in February 2015. In August 2017, he competed on Worst Cooks in America: Season 11: Celebrity Edition 3, winning the competition and being named "Best of the Worst." In December 2021, he appeared as a guest on Red Table Talk: The Estefans.

Hilton also appeared in music videos, including Simple Plan's "When I'm Gone," The Pussycat Dolls' "Hush Hush," Rihanna's "S&M" and Anahí and Christian Chávez's "Libertad."

Hilton made his off-Broadway debut in NEWSical The Musical in 2012, starring as himself in a four-week run beginning Sept. 8. In 2015, he starred as Danny Tanner/Bob Saget in Full House! The Musical, which ran at Theater 80 in Manhattan from Sept. 10 through Nov. 29.

Hilton launched his nationally syndicated radio show Radio Perez on May 5, 2008. The program included updates from his blog. He also appeared on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. In July 2015, he and radio personality Chris Booker began The Perez Hilton Podcast with Chris Booker, a weekly podcast covering current topics. The podcast held a live taping at The Space in Las Vegas on April 27, 2019.
