Mrs. Doubtfire, a new musical based on the 1993 hit family film of the same name, is actually based on the 1987 novel Alias Madame Doubtfire by Anne Fine. The stage musical in all its purposes features music and lyrics by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, with a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell. The National Tour is currently onstage in the Carol Morsani Hall, at Tampa’s Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
The writer of new Live Aid musical, Just For One Day, has said that Bob Geldof has been a challenge to work with on the show.

John O’Farrell, the book writer of Something Rotten!, has tweeted that Mel Brooks 'ripped [them] off' with a scene in History of the World Part II. In Something Rotten, the character of Shakespeare rejects the idea of adding songs into his plays, which can also be seen in the trailer for Brooks' highly-anticipated sequel to History of the World.
