James Francis-Johnston's credits include the British premiere of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers as a stage show at the Theatre Royal, York, The Artful Dodger in Oliver!, a Chinese policeman in Aladdin at Weston-super-Mare and most recently, General Tom Thumb in Barnum with Michael Crawford at the Victoria Palace, London. He has just finished a television production of Barnum to be screened at Christmas this year. His television work includes The Real Price of Fame for the BBC and It's Not Where You Start It's Where You Finish for Tyne Tees.
He was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 2001 (2000 season) for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in The Pirates of Penzance at the Open Air Theatre. He was nominated for a 1999 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for his 1998 supporting performance in Oklahoma!
