BIO
Jason Hughes gained widespread recognition for his role as lawyer Warren Jones in the television drama This Life (1996–1997), in which he portrayed one of the first prominent openly gay characters on British primetime television.
On stage, Hughes appeared as Ralph Clark in Our Country's Good (1999) and as Cliff in a 1999 production of Look Back in Anger.
In 2005, Hughes joined the cast of Midsomer Murders as Detective Sergeant Ben Jones. He remained a series regular until 2013 and returned for a guest appearance in 2017. Following his departure from the series, he appeared in television dramas including Marcella and The Pact.
In 2015, Hughes starred as Rick in Gary Owen's play Violence and Son. Outside of acting, he performed as guitarist and backing vocalist with the band Butterfly Macqueen, which remained active through 2009.
