Travelogue: The Musings of a Regional Theater Critic’s Trip to New York - Volume 2
by James Lindhorst - Sep 30, 2026

Packing a four day weekend with seven shows doesn't allow a lot of time for dining, so grabbing a slice of pie or a hot dog from a street vendor become dining staples. Now that some producers have moved their matinees to Thursday, it makes seven shows possible: Matinee and evening performances on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a single show on Friday evening. Planning is essential to know what shows have matinees on Thursday and what show are not dark on Sunday evenings.
