Chris Medlin

Chris Medlin is originally from Georgia and grew up in the mountains of East Tennessee. Raised in a small Southern town with limited artistic outlets, he began creating his own opportunities through singing, dancing and performing. In third grade, after riding the bus home, Medlin walked back to his school alone to audition for the choir, beginning a longstanding commitment to performance.

Medlin is a New York City-based actor best known for his role as Isaac Downey on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias (2020), appearing across five seasons. He was promoted to series regular ahead of filming the show’s third season.

Medlin made his Broadway debut in the original cast of Tina Fey’s Mean Girls the Musical, followed by a role in the original Broadway cast of Diana the Musical. Diana was filmed for Netflix during the COVID-19 pandemic and released in 2021. He has also appeared on regional stages across the country, including in the world premieres of Mean Girls the Musical and The Prom Musical, as well as several other productions.

While based in Los Angeles, Medlin appeared in the film Pass the Light (2015), for which he also served as choreographer. His career includes work across television, film and stage, with a focus on roles and productions that highlight diverse stories and perspectives.
