Chris Colfer

Chris Colfer began his acting career in community theater productions of West Side Story and later appeared as Kurt von Trapp in The Sound of Music with Good Company Players. At 18, he starred in the short film Russel Fish: The Sausage and Eggs Incident.

In 2009, Colfer was cast as Kurt Hummel on the Fox television series Glee, a role he played throughout the series' run. His performance earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series in 2011 and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He also appeared with the cast in the concert production Glee Live! In Concert! in 2011. In 2014, he wrote the Glee episode "Old Dog, New Tricks."

Colfer wrote, starred in and executive-produced the coming-of-age comedy film Struck by Lightning, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2012. That year, he also appeared in the staged production of 8 as Ryan Kendall. In 2014, he guest-starred on Hot in Cleveland and returned for another episode in 2015. He played Christopher in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie in 2016 and appeared as a guest judge on Chopped Junior that same year.

In 2014, Colfer was cast as the voice of the title character in the animated film Robodog, though the project remained unreleased. In 2017, he announced Indigo, a television series he planned to write, direct and executive-produce. Colfer starred as Boyd in the horror film The Restoration at Grayson Manor, which premiered in 2025.
