For The Record’s perennial holiday favorite Love Actually Live returned to The Wallis November 29, 2023. Commemorating the film’s 20th anniversary, Anderson Davis directs the cast of Tomasina Abate, Madison Taylor Baez, James Byous, Chris Cockrill, Audrey Cymone, Anthony Fedorov, Brayden Gleave, Grace Kinstler, Parissa Koo, Doug Kreeger, Austin Lesch, Ruby Lewis, Chris Mann, Jordan Ann Martone, Brian McKnight Jr., Darrell Morris Jr, Nina Nelson, Spencer Schaffe, Drew Seeley, Rex Smith, Alkaio Thiele and Cheyenne Isabel Wells. In the midst of previews, Ruby found some time to answer a few of my queries.

Love Actually Live, a 'Broadway-style' show that combines songs inspired by the classic holiday film with scenes from the movie itself, will star Drew Seely and Grace Kinstler. The High School Musical alum and American Idol finalist will be joined by Cheyenne Isabel Wells (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies) and more.

The Paramount+ original series GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES has been canceled after one season. 

The collection includes 30 original songs created for the series plus “Grease Is the Word,” a modern take on the song “Grease,” which was written by Barry Gibb and performed by Frankie Valli and served as the opening track of the original film. Executive music producer and GRAMMY nominee songwriter Justin Tranter helmed the music and soundtrack.

This spring, audiences went back to Rydell High for Rise of the Pink Ladies, the new Grease prequel series on Paramount+. 30 original songs will appear in Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies over the course of its 10-episode premiere season. BroadwayWorld sat down with executive music producer and GRAMMY nominee Justin Tranter, who wrote the songs, each of which will soundtrack a dance number choreographed by Jamal Sims.

“New Cool,” which features the character Cynthia, played by Ari Notartomaso, and the T-Birds, is the first original song from the series to be released. “New Cool” is one of 30 original songs featured in season one of GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES, with executive music producer Justin Tranter at the helm.
