Charlie Morrison BIO

Charlie Morrison is a multiple award-winning Lighting Designer whose work has been seen worldwide on four continents and in every state in the continental US. Over the past twenty-five years, Charlie has created the lighting for well over 300 projects, from national and international touring productions, to regional theatre, to major architectural, retail and themed attractions. National and International touring productions include Disney?s The Little Mermaid; Dr. Seuss? How the Grinch Stole Christmas-The Musical (also with productions at the Hulu Theatre in New York, Chicago, Boston, and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville); the US Tour and China premiere of A Chorus Line; Elton John and Tim Rice?s Aida; A Christmas Story-The Musical; The Who?s Tommy; the 10th anniversary tour of The Producers; Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; Miss Saigon; Groovaloo (also at the Union Square Theatre in New York); The King and I; The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; Smokey Joe?s Caf ; My Fair Lady; Gypsy; 42nd Street; Singin? in the Rain; and many others. Charlie is a frequent collaborator at many of the nation?s top regional theatres, including Paper Mill Playhouse, Shakespeare Theatre Company (DC), The Guthrie, Theatre Under the Stars, Goodspeed Musicals, Seattle 5th Avenue Theatre, Dallas Summer Musicals, Kansas City Starlight, Broadway Sacramento at Music Circus, Seattle Rep, George Street Playhouse, Olney Theatre Center, and Playmaker?s Rep. Charlie has also created the lighting for a wide variety of retail projects, events, and architectural installations. Clients include Hot Topic, XL New York (a nightclub in New York?s Chelsea district), Foot Locker, The Silver Legacy Resort and Casino, Universal Studios Florida, Shakespeare Theatre Company (annual gala), RH Productions, Creative Realities, Hands on House (an interactive children?s museum), and The American Academy for the Advancement of Science, among many others. Charlie is a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts and is a member of United Scenic Artists.
