Off-Broadway: U.S. premiere of Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen, Ian in Shining City opposite Matthew Broderick, The Weir, Port Authority, 39 Steps, Samuel Beckett’s All That Fall with Michael Gambon (Regional), Thomas Stockmann in An Enemy of the People (Guthrie, Minneapolis), The River (TheaterWorks, Hartford). Carter has worked extensively in the U.K. and Ireland at the following: Old Vic, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre, Royal Court, Almeida, Lyric Hammersmith, and Abbey Theatre, Dublin. London, West End: Birdsong director Trevor Nunn, The Malcontent, Island Princess, Eastward Ho!, and The Roman Actor (RSC/Gielgud), Macbeth (Queens), I Can’t Sing! (The London Palladium).
