This fall, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) will present two major solo career-spanning surveys of Judy Chicago and Larry Bell, highlighting the range and depth of each artist's practice beyond the artistic movements they are each associated with. Featuring iconic installations as well as rarely seen bodies of work, these exhibitions culminate ICA Miami's 2018 season in its new home. (more...)

Miami City Ballet today announced the appointment of Tania Castroverde Moskalenko as the ballet company's new Executive Director. The appointment was made after an extensive, six-month international search. Castroverde Moskalenko, who returns to the city where she immigrated with her family 30 years ago as a political refugee from Cuba, will assume the leadership role alongside City Ballet Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez on August 7, 2018. As Executive Director, she will lead the company's institutional strategy, fundraising, and operations, building upon City Ballet's achievements as it advances its vision for the future. (more...)

The First Rastafari Church & Cultural Center of Florida(FRCCC) will host the opening of their location today, June 16, 2018, from 1pm-7pm. This mini-festival is a family inspired event and will take place at 16280 NW 27th Avenue, Miami Gardens, Florida 33054. The event is free and open to the public. Miami City Ballet (MCB) has announced its 52-member roster for the 2018/19 season, which opens on October 19 in Miami. The highlights include the return of principal dancer Jeanette Delgado, the promotion of Samantha Hope Galler from corps de ballet to soloist, and the addition of five new dancers to the corps de ballet: Gustavo Ribeiro, former corps de ballet member at Kansas City Ballet; Madison McDonough, formerly a member of the corps de ballet at Los Angeles Ballet; Nina Fernandes, formerly a member of the corps de ballet at Houston Ballet; Satoki Habuchi and Petra Love, both recent graduates of Miami City Ballet School. The City Theatre National Award for Short Playwriting Contest furthers the Company's mission to identify, acknowledge and award excellence in dramatic writing. City Theatre Artistic Director Margaret M. Ledford said, "This year's Winner and Finalists were selected from a fierce pool of over 800 talented writers from around the country.
