KVPAC Seeks Show Director for Fall Production

Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center's (KVPAC) Books Alive! is in immediate need of a director/coordinator for its fall production, Too Many Frogs. This delightful 2-person musical will tour throughout the greater Houston area with special engagements in the Tyler area. Rehearsals run the last two weeks of September 2010, Monday-Thursday, during the day; exact hours to be set by director. The show will run the month of October 2010, Monday-Thursday and Saturday's (except for Oct 30th). A special engagement is booked October 21st in Marshall, TX that requires travel the night before and a Friday, October 29th performance at 1:30pm in Houston, TX. Call times are between 7:00am and 2:00pm, with the noted exceptions.

Duties include directing the musical, meeting with the production team to coordinate production values, setting actors performance schedule for touring, tour with cast as host and liaison to performance venues, responsible for post-performance evaluations from receiving centers, must assist in loading and unloading sets, props and costumes to each venue with the help of the performing crew. Though this production is double cast, director must agree to go in as an understudy should the need arise.

Previous Directing experience a must. Applicant must currently hold a Driver's License and must be able to show proof of insurance. Must be able to commit to all performance days and rehearsals. Must have previous experience in coordinating and managing people in an effective and professional manner.

Pay-rate for this production is a $1000 flat rate for directing as well as $15 per hour for touring calls.
