Sophie Carmen-Jones and Jacqueline B. Arnold Will Return to CHICAGO

Chicago on Broadway will welcome the return of Sophie Carmen-Jones in the role of “Velma Kelly” and Jacqueline B. Arnold in the role of “Matron Mama Morton” beginning Monday, January 26 at the Ambassador Theatre. 

Sophie Carmen-Jones' West End credits include Nini in Moulin Rouge! (original cast), Francine in Jersey Boys, Viva Forever! (original cast), Wicked, We Will Rock You. She also played Velma Kelly in Chicago on UK Tour. On television, she can be seen in “One Day” (Netflix), “Dark Money” (BBC), “Cleaning Up” (ITV), “White Gold” (BBC), “Unforgotten” (ITV). On film, she can be seen in The Kiss of The Spider Woman, The Little Mermaid, Death on the Nile, Cinderella, Rocketman, Cats, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast. 

Jacqueline B. Arnold’s Broadway credits include Smash (Anita OBC), Moulin Rouge! (La Chocolat OBC), Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Diva 1 OBC). National Tours include Hairspray 1st National (Lorraine, Motormouth U/S), Rent 2nd National (Joanne), We Will Rock You (Killer Queen).

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, Chicago is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.
