Meet the Next On Stage Finalists: Gabe Richardson

Just weeks ago we learned which talented contestants will move forward to the finale of Next On Stage, sponsored by AMDA and Atlantic Acting School! The Top 3 are getting ready to show us what they've got in New York City, as they prepare to perform at the famed 54 Below.

Who will win the competition? You'll have to tune into the live finale on Sunday, January 18 (12pm ET) to find out! Until then, we are getting to know the students one by one. Meet College contestant Gabe Richardson from Denver, Colorado.

What do you love the most about performing?

I love when performing has a genuinely deep impact on the audience and when that energy fills the theater. But personally, I love the sense of comfort it brings me. Somehow stepping onto a stage in front of hundreds of people makes me LESS anxious.

What's a role that you'd love to play someday and why?

Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Both the score and book couldn't be more flawless and I'd love to tell the story.

Is there a theatre educator who has had a big impact on you as a performer?

Yes. Chris Armbrister at Stagedoor Manor changed the way I thought about storytelling in such a graceful way, I’ll always be grateful for him. He makes each actor feel so valuable and confident and I couldn't appreciate that more!
