Dancing in Poppies – by Gail Bowen, Ron Marken

Dancing in Poppies by Gail Bowen, Ron Marken

About the Book

This play is the story of George and Roger, two young Saskatchewan veterans of the First World War, and the Ontario woman, Adelaide, who nursed them during their convalescence. Adelaide's journey can be read as a coming-of-age story, a coming-of-age not just for one young woman, but also for a generation of young people and for a nation. It is a story about "young people and a young country; about love and friendship; about asking questions and seeking answers, and about celebrating in the midst of darkness."
