Last night, March 15, The Actor's Fund presented a one-night-only benefit performance of VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, a stage adaptation of the 1967 film, at the Gerald W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College. The evening will benefit their programs and services.

The 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards were held last night, March 13, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The event was hosted by Tony Award winner Alan Cumming. Colman Domingo's 'A Boy and His Soul', produced by the Vineyard Theatre, won the Outstanding New York Theater: Broadway & Off-Broadway award, while 'She Likes Girls' by Chisa Hutchison took home the award in the Outstanding New York Theater: Off-Off-Broadway category. The Broadway musical HAIR received a Special Recognition Award for their support of LGBT equality.

Stars including Chita Rivera, Liza Minnelli, Mario Cantone, Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Danieley, Norm Lewis, Debra Monk, Julia Murney, Karen Ziemba, Heidi Blickenstaff celebrated all things Kander and Ebb last night at the Vineyard Theatre's Annual Gala yesterday evening, March 8. Lead by Tony Award-winning host David Hyde Pierce (Kander & Ebb's CURTAINS), the crowd paid tribute to the work of Kander and his late collaborator Fred Ebb.

Westchester Broadway Theatre opened a new production of NINE on February 25, 2010, starring Broadway vet Robert Cuccioli. With music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, book by Arthur Kopit, direction and choreography by Jonathan Stahl, and musical direction by Sue Anderson, the production will run through April 24th, 2010.

Produced by Randie Levine-Miller. the event featured Len Cariou, Jim Brochu, Tom D'Angelo, Martin Vidnovic, John De Marco, Myles Savage, and Sal Viviano, with musical direction by Paul Chamlin.

The event was co-hosted by Joan Rivers and Michael Urie, and featured performances by Murray Hill, Dirty Martini, Bridgett Everett, Tommy Femia, Vodka Stinger, and Talulah DeBayous. DJ Dan Fortune supplied music for the evening.

Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) celebrated the construction of the theatre's future home, The Signature Center, at its 2010 annual gala on Monday, March 1 at Espace (635 West 42nd Street). Guest of honor was Frank Gehry, architect of the Signature Center. The evening alsod include the presentation of Signature's Playwrights' Award to actress Hallie Foote, daughter of the late playwright Horton Foote, who is currently starring at Signature in her father's critically acclaimed world premiere trilogy, The Orphans' Home Cycle.

BROADWAY BACKWARDS 5 is produced by BC/EFA and benefited BC/EFA and The Center.

The off-Broadway hit, Love, Loss and What I Wore welcomed a new cast on February 4, consisting of funny-women Janeane Garofalo, Joanna Gleason, Carol Kane, June Diane Raphael and Caroline Rhea. The current cast will play through February 28.

On Monday, December 14th, Ann Harada resurrected her character 'Christmas Eve' from the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q for a one night only holiday cabaret entitled Christmas Eve With Christmas Eve. The evening took place at The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space @ WNYC (44 Charlton Street at Varick) with all proceeds benefiting Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.
