By:

Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour, the touring arm of Telluride Mountainfilm, makes its fourth annual stop at the Plaza Atlanta Theatre next weekend. Year-round and worldwide, Telluride Mountainfilm takes a selection of its festival films on the road and the Atlanta stop,Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour ATL (TMF-ATL), is August 25, 26 and 27 at The Plaza Atlanta Theatre. At this year's festival, festival officials will announce the inaugural winner of the scholarship program that will benefit local, emerging filmmakers. Because of demand, the festival has added a Thursday night screening, to spotlight a specific film. There will be a full panel talkback after that screening (details below). The festival will host screenings Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30pm. On Friday morning, there is a Kidz Kino event for area school children supported by the ALLIANCE THEATRE Educational Outreach Team.

Festival passes ($35 for all the weekend events) are on sale, and single tickets ($10 and $20) are on sale at www.mountainfilmatl.org. The Plaza Atlanta Theatre is located at 1049 Ponce de Leon Avenue, Atlanta GA, 30306. Visit mountainfilmatl.org for more information.

Each evening's screenings consist of several films totaling approximately 90 minutes per screening. Directing and producing teams will be in attendance throughout the weekend and are available for interviews. and Q&A format sessions will be arranged as the Festival approaches. A list of films and filmmakers in attendance is at the end of this release and will be posted on the organization's website.

"Of course, the Festival will continue to present the extreme adventure films our audiences love and expect, and we are including some of the cream of the Telluride Mountainfilm crop of 2-16 films that are centered in social justice, human interest, and conservation," says Jordan Naliwajka (nah-lee-wy-kuh), the ATL Festival Director. "And we are very excited about this year's new components: the Thursday night screening and panel discussion; and the awarding of our first scholarship, funded by festival proceeds and gifts."

Festival passes are $35, Thursday screening tickets are $10, Friday / Saturday screening tickets are $20 each night. Passes and single tickets are on sale now at www.mountainfilmatl.org. If available, tickets will also be available at the door. The Festival has sold out the last two years, so buy soon!
