BAD WITH MONEY, Ben Rimalower's new play about spending beyond his means - performed in rep with his first piece PATTI ISSUES - will be extended at The Duplex (61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue) through June 21. Ben was featured in today's New York Times and a recent interview on WNYC / New York Public Radio, available to listen here. In a recent four star review from Time Out New York, BAD WITH MONEY was hailed as "light, funny" and "vividly personal," as well as "courageously honest, keenly specific and emotionally naked" by The Advocate. PATTI ISSUES, which ran for a year at the same venue and subsequently toured the country and abroad, explores his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father. The pieces will be performed on alternating Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM through April 29 and then various days and times through June 21. Both shows are written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark. (more...)

ALL FOR ONE THEATER and GORGEOUS ENTERTAINMENT will offer a special presentation of GHOSTLIGHT 9: A MUSICAL GHOST STORY for three performances only, April 22, 28 and May 3. GHOSTLIGHT 9 is performed by All For One's Artistic Director Michael Wolk - who also provides book, music and lyrics - and directed by Aaron Mark. Mr. Wolk accompanies himself on guitar. GHOSTLIGHT 9, a charmingly spooky tale inspired by the ghost that famously haunts the New Amsterdam Theater, will take place at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street in Manhattan) to coincide with ALL FOR ONE THEATER production of the New York premieres of 8 STOPS and MAJOR TOM. The show was developed in All For One's SoloLab in 2014, and it received a workshop presentation in January 2015 at The Wild Project. (more...)

The Cincinnati Arts Association is pleased to announce the winners of its Overture Awards Competition, held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater, and the winner of its new Arts Educator Award for Excellence in Arts Instruction. The competition awarded $4,000 to six area students for education and training, with 18 runners-up each winning $1,000, while the Arts Educator Award winner received $2,500 and two finalists were awarded $500 each. The Board of Directors for Center Theatre Group elected Kiki Ramos Gindler as President of the Board at the organization's board meeting on February 12, 2015. With this appointment, Gindler becomes the organization's first Latina president as well as the Music Center's first Latina board leader. Gindler will succeed William H.
