Seacoast Rep Opens A CLOSER WALK WITH PATSY CLINE Tonight
(3/27/2015) - Portsmouth native and Broadway touring veteran Merrill Peiffer will play the starring role on home turf in the Seacoast Repertory Theatre's production of the musical A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, opening tonight, March 27. The musical tells the story of one of country music's brightest stars with the songs she made famous, a live band and the folksy sounds of country radio.

Kennedy Center Names 2015 Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Award Winners
(3/20/2015) - The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the 2015 winners of Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards -- a series of annual grants which recognize American teachers by spotlighting their extraordinary impact on the lives of students. Thirteen teachers were selected in 2015 from a pool of nominations received through the Kennedy Center's website. Award recipients each receive $10,000 and are showcased, along with the people they inspired, on a website dedicated to inspirational teachers. The awards were created in honor of Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday in 2010 and were initiated and funded through the generous support of Myrna and Freddie Gershon.

Intelligent Theatre Festival Returns This Year
(3/18/2015) - The third annual Intelligent Theatre Festival brings new and exciting changes to this community playreading program. In past years, the Festival has been held over one or two weekends; in 2015 the Festival will run from April to June and will showcase new voices from around the community.
The Company Theatre to Present SHREK THE MUSICAL JR., 4/17-26
(3/18/2015) - The Academy of The Company Theatre (ACT) presents Shrek the Musical Jr., from April 17 through 26 at The Company Theatre Centre for the Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. The production is directed by Zoe Bradford and Jordie Saucerman, with music direction by Melissa Carubia and choreography by Sally Forrest. Several performances have been scheduled to provide family entertainment opportunities during school vacation week.
