(11/25/2014) - Waterwell, one of the Village Voice's Best Arguments for Devised Theater and creators of GOODBAR and #9, continues its annual series of developmental workshop productions by commissioning a new play from Qui Nguyen (The Inexplicable Redemption of Agent G, She Kills Monsters) for its senior Drama Class of 2015 at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS). To be directed by longtime collaborator, Robert Ross Parker (Goodbye Cruel World, co-artistic director of Vampire Cowboys), the piece will premiere at PPAS in April 2015.

(11/25/2014) - According to an article on Slate, Stanford University students responded to the cancellation of their production of the satirical musical BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON with a cabaret called DID WE OFFEND YOU? The new show premiered last weekend to a sold-out audience and featured controversial tunes from musicals including RENT, THE PRODUCERS and, of course, 'ANDREW JACKSON'.

(11/25/2014) - Museum of the Moving Image will present sixteen contemporary animated films in a new edition of its popular See It Big! series, co-programmed with the online film magazine Reverse Shot. The series, which opens November 28 and continues through December 28, 2014, includes works by renowned animation directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata of Studio Ghibli, Bill Plympton, Henry Selick, John Lasseter, and Satoshi Kon, as well as unique works by directors Wes Anderson and Richard Linklater and others.

(11/25/2014) - On Friday, November 14, 2014 STAGES St. Louis hosted the thirteenth annual APPLAUSE! Gala at the Ritz-Carlton, a benefit to support the organization's Education and Artistic Programs. APPLAUSE! 2014 raised a record amount of over $375,000. This year's numbers come on the heels of another record-breaking season, which generated nearly $3 million in ticket sales, over a $1 million increase over the previous year and out-grossing any season in STAGES' 28-year history. The event was hosted by STAGES stars Kari Ely and Steve Isom. Lynne Turley served as event Chair.

(11/25/2014) - The Contemporary American Theater Festival at Shepherd University (CATF) has announced that its Managing Director, James McNeel, has accepted the same position at City Theatre Company in Pittsburgh, PA. McNeel, who has been in this role for the last four seasons, will officially close his tenure on December 12th. The Theater Festival is currently in the process of hiring his replacement.
