Sir Paul McCartney returned to the stage in fine form Saturday evening, after a virus kept him sidelined from performing for seven weeks.
During the Albany, NY concert's final encore, McCartney invited a middle-aged couple onstage, who had been standing toward the front of the house all night, waving matching signs which read, "I HAVE THE RING AND I'M 64," while hers said "HE WON'T Marry Me TIL HE MEETS YOU."
The romantic gentleman knelt on one knee, proposed, and serenaded his new fiance with a few bars of "When I'm 64." McCartney then joked that he was already booked for the wedding. And by the way, she said 'Yes'!
The former Beatle went on to perform 'Helter Skelter for the crowd of 13,000.
Yesterday, July 6th, marked the 50th Anniversary of the iconic Beatle's fillm 'Hard Days Night.'
