More Stage Vets Set for LES MISERABLES Film


The Daily Mail reports that the cast of Cameron Mackintosh and Tom Hooper's film version of the musical Les Miserables now includes Bertie Carvel (Matilda), Daniel Evans (Sunday in the Park with George) and Adrian Scarborough (Betty Blue Eyes). In addition, several cast members who have performed in stage versions of Les Miserables will star in the film including Caroline Sheen, Hadley Fraser, Killian Donnelly, Mike Jibson, Linzi Hateley, Gemma Wardle, Katy Secombe, Gina Beck, Fra Fee, Alexia Khadime and Katie Hall.

The stars join previously announced Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Colm Wilkinson, Frances Ruffelle and Daniel Huttlestone.

Carvel will play the role of Bamatabois, who assualts Fantine during her time as a prostitute and claims she attacked him.

Carvel, currently playing in the West End musical Matilda, also starred in the 2007 West End revival production of Parade. Daniel Evans is a two-time Olivier Award winning actor and is the director of Sheffield Theatres. His stage credits include the Broadway and West End productions of Sunday in the Park with George, Grand Hotel, Merrily We Roll Along, Candide and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Adrian Scarborough currently stars in the West End's Betty Blue Eyes.
