impreMedia is Now is Accepting Nominations for 9th Annual Mujeres Destacadas Awards
impreMedia, the leading Hispanic news and information company in the U.S., announced today that nominations are now being accepted for its annual Mujeres Destacadas (Exceptional Women) awards. Nominations will be accepted online at www.mujeresdestacadas.net through December 20, 2013.
Now in its ninth year, impreMedia's signature editorial and event series Mujeres Destacadas honors exceptional women for their outstanding contributions at a volunteer or professional level in the areas of Community Leadership, Health, Education, Business/Technology and Arts & Culture.
Marking the first time El Mensajero participates in the program, the 2014 edition will be the first to not only honor Mujeres Destacadas in the Bay Area but also to span six cities. In total, impreMedia and its market-leading group of daily and weekly Spanish-language publications will recognize 100 extraordinary women. Dailies La Opinion in Los Angeles and El Diario La Prensa in New York will honor 30 women each while 10 will be feted by weekly publications El Mensajero (San Francisco), La Prensa (Orlando), RUMBO (Houston), and La Raza (Chicago).
“Mujeres Destacadas is one of our most important traditions at impreMedia and one that is especially dear to my heart because these exceptional women are truly the unsung heroes of the Latino community and have dedicated themselves to making this a better world,” said CEO Monica Lozano. “We look forward to receiving nominations from the public and working with our community partners and sponsors to honor even more exceptional women who are paving the way for future generations of Latinas.”
Over the course of six weeks, starting in February 2014 and leading up to each market's awards luncheon, honorees will be profiled in the print editions, as well as featured in a dedicated website debuting this year.
