TheFix.com is Back
TheFix.com, the world's leading website dealing with addiction and recovery, relaunches today, marking the start of a Happy Thanksgiving week for its loyal readers. Respected publishing innovator Jay Levin, founder of LA Weekly, will lead the site in its new incarnation.
Though The Fix ceased publishing on July 26 when it closed down for reorganization, the site's archival content remained online in the interceding months, attracting hundreds of thousands of unique monthly visitors.
Now, under the new ownership of Clean and Sober Media, LLC, which bought the site out of bankruptcy, The Fix returns with its proven daily dose of breaking news, fresh exclusive interviews, investigative reports, scientific research and personal essays on addiction, sober living and treatment.
The Fix editorial team plans to expand into related areas of public need, including mental health and addictions other than drugs and alcohol. And it will continue to draw from the greatest minds in the field, including leading journalists and researchers, and from the shared knowledge of the recovery community.
Levin is best known as the founder and former editor-in-chief and CEO of LA Weekly. Under his editorial and business leadership, LA Weekly won numerous journalism awards while becoming the largest circulation and most advertising-rich urban weekly newspaper in the country.
The editorial staff is rounded out by features editor William Georgiades; news editor Shawn Dwyer; and senior editor Iris Berry. William has been a core member of The Fix editorial team for the last year and also has served as an editor at the NY Post and the AA Grapevine. Shawn was a senior editor at Baseline, Inc. Iris Berry has been publisher at Punk Hostage Press. Collectively, the staff is highly knowledgeable about addiction and recovery.
