Real-Time Innovations to Sponsor Object Management Group
The Object Management Group (OMG) is pleased to announce that Real-Time Innovations (RTI) has signed on as an annual Gold sponsor. By sponsoring OMG, RTI is demonstrating its commitment to establishing standards throughout the technology industry and related vertical markets.
“RTI has enjoyed a long involvement with the OMG having authored the key standards in the OMG DDS family of specifications”, said Gerardo Pardo-Castellote, CTO at RTI and OMG Board Member. “Our relationship with OMG has helped us become the world's leading supplier of OMG DDS-compliant middleware. Now RTI Connext DDS is one of the key communications protocols used for the Internet of Things.”
“We are pleased to have RTI join OMG's leading group of sponsors,” said Dr. Richard Soley, Chairman and CEO of OMG. “RTI has always been a leader in the adoption of standards – in particular, the adoption of the DDS specification – and a strong supporter of all OMG standardization efforts. We are proud to count them as both member and sponsor and look forward to their continued involvement in industry standards adoption.”
An OMG member organization since 1999, the company serves as co-chair to the Data Distribution Services Platform Special Interest Group (DDS PSIG). It provides the Quality of Service required to support remote telemetry as well as situational awareness, control, interoperability and security.
RTI has sponsored various OMG special events in recent years including a DDS Information Day at the consortium's March 2013 meeting in Reston, VA and the “DDS: the Intelligent Systems Backbone” event at the Berlin, Germany meeting in June 2013.
