Pittsburgh CLO Announces Full Casts of Local Productions - Starring Sally Struthers, Hunter Herdlicka, Liz Callaway and More!
Pittsburgh CLO has announced casting for its summer season, which includes six shows, featuring the national tours of Come Fly Away and The Addams Family, and CLO original productions of A Chorus Line, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof and Sunset Boulevard.
Notably, A CHORUS LINE brings on board a slew of the show's national tour veterans, ANNIE stars Sally Struthers as Miss Hannigan, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF features Broadway's Lewis J. Stadlen, Susan Cella, Hunter Herdlicka, Joel Robertson, Emily Shoolin and Kay Walbye, and Liz Callaway and Walter Charles are set to star in SUNSET BOULEVARD.
A CHORUS LINE was conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett, with book by James Kirkwood & Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch and lyrics by Edward Kleban. This backstage story of 17 aspiring dancers pairs heart-stopping, toe-tapping performances with soaring ballads, all against the backdrop of the ups and downs of a life in show business. The iconic score features such classics as “What I Did for Love,” “One,” “I Hope I Get It” and more.

Baayork Lee (Director and Choreographer) - Lee created the role of Connie in A Chorus Line and has performed in a dozen Broadway shows. Michael Bennett’s assistant choreographer on A Chorus Line, she has directed many national and international companies. Her directing credits include The King and I and Bombay Dreams (National Tours), R&H’s Cinderella (NYC Opera), Barnum (Australia), Carmen Jones (Kennedy Center), Porgy and Bess, Jesus Christ Superstar (European Tour), Gypsy and A New Brain. As a choreographer, she has choreographed productions of Cocoanuts, Camelot, Damn Yankees, Animal Crackers (Helen Hayes nomination), South Pacific, Goya, Sly, The Merry Widow, among others.
ANNIE, with book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, is based on the Tribune Media Service Comic Strip, Annie. Join the sweet and spunky orphan Annie and her adorable dog, Sandy, in adventure after fun-filled adventure on their search for a loving home. This heartwarming family musical is a rambunctious mix of misfits, mutts, menaces and millionaires. The score features “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” “It’s the Hard-Knock Life” and “Tomorrow.”
CLO's ANNIE cast features TV and Broadway vets, including: Sally Struthers (Miss Hannigan), Conrad John Schuck (Oliver Warbucks), Tim Hartman (FDR), Danette Holden (Grace), Jeff Howell (Drake), Denis Lambert (Rooster), Johanna Loughran (Annie), Paul Palmer (LT. Ward), Heather Parcels (Lily).

CLO's ANNIE creative team includes:
Charles Repole (Director) - Repole has directed numerous productions for Pittsburgh CLO including Jesus Christ Superstar, Curtains, Barry Manilow’s Copacabana, Annie Get Your Gun, 42nd Street, Singin’ in the Rain, My Fair Lady, Carousel and Cinderella. He also directed the critically-acclaimed production of 42nd Street in 2008 at North Shore Music Theatre. His New York City and Broadway directing credits include the highly-acclaimed concert versions of Dubarry Was a Lady, Call Me Madam and the revival of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, among others. As an actor, Mr. Repole has appeared on Broadway in Doubles, Whoopee! and Very Good Eddie, which earned him a Tony Award® nomination and a Theatre World Award.
Michael Lichtefeld (Choreographer) - Lichtefeld has choreographed more than a dozen Pittsburgh CLO productions, including White Christmas, 42nd Street, Funny Girl, La Cage Aux Folles and Cinderella. His Broadway choreography credits include Little Women, The Secret Garden, The Sound of Music, Sweeney Todd, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Laughing Room Only and the City Center Encores production of Music in the Air. Mr. Lichtefeld has also performed in the Broadway productions of Evita, Sophisticated Ladies and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. His choreography has been nominated for Drama Desk, Ovation and Outer Critics Circle Awards.
