That Perfect Click: Lürzer's Archive is Searching for the Best Advertising Photographers Worldwide
Lürzer's Archive, the leading professional magazine for outstanding advertising worldwide, is working on the next volume in its successful "200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide" series. Over the coming weeks, a top-class jury will be shifting their way through 8,291 submissions to select the 200 best international advertising photographers.
The judges rate both creativity and the technical skill displayed by photographers. Only those who perform well in both categories can hope to be featured in the book. The best new advertising photographs will appear in November 2013 in the new edition of "200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide," classified by categories such as animals, beauty, landscape, life, and people.
Photographers from 52 countries have submitted to Lürzer's Archive work they have done over the past 18 months. The majority of submissions come from the USA (2,424), followed by Germany (1,142), and the UK (978).
Following pre-selection by editor-in-chief Michael Weinzettl and Anne-Rose Schlutbohm (former publisher of Profession Photographe), an international jury selects the 200 best advertising photographers. The panel is composed of Suzee Barrabee (Director of Art and Print production at Goodby Silverstein and Partners), Damon Collins (founder member of Joint London), Rafael Gil (art director at Africa in São Paulo), Christophe Gilbert (photographer), Shintaro Shiratori (president of the Japan Advertising Photographers' Association - APA), and Anne Telford (Communication Arts).
"Both the quantity and the quality of submissions surprise us over and over again with each new edition of the volume," says Michael Weinzettl, editor-in-chief of Lürzer's Archive. "The vast artistic range of the photos submitted shows just how important emotional and eye-catching pictures are in today's most successful advertising campaigns."
