It was announced earlier today that Jagged Little Pill won this year's Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album!

Broadway star and Grammy nominee opened the Grammy Premiere Cermony! The tribute performance celebrated the 50th anniversary of Marvin Gaye's 'Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology).'

Broadway's Mykal Kilgore will be performing in a Marvin Gaye tribute at The Grammy Award's Premiere Ceremony, streaming online on March 14 at 3pm ET!

The winners of the 2021 Richard Rodgers Awards for Musical Theater were announced today by the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Each musical received a Studio Production Award.

Voting for the Tony Awards has officially begun. There are 778 Tony voters, but because voters can only cast ballots in categories in which they’ve seen all the nominees, and the pandemic prevented any spring theatergoing, there are fewer qualified voters than in a typical year. 

Award-winning comedy icons Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards, celebrating the best in film and television. The telecast aired live coast to coast tonight, Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. PST/8-11 p.m. EST on NBC.

The Kleban Foundation celebrates the 31st anniversary of the annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre with the announcement of the 2021 prizewinners. The Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Benjamin Scheuer. The Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to co-librettists Melissa Li and Kit Yan.

The Drama League will present the 87th Drama League Awards, which will be pre-recorded and streamed on May 21, 2021. The nomination process, which will focus on extraordinary digital theatrical productions during the shutdown of live performance and identifying individuals and organizations that made an impact in the last year, is currently underway.

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) announced today the film nominees for the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards.  The winners will be revealed LIVE on The CW on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 7-10pm ET/PT, with acclaimed film, television, and stage star Taye Diggs returning to host for his third consecutive time. 

Former 'Hamilton' co-stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Daveed Diggs have been honored with Screen Actors Guild Award nominations this morning! 

This morning, Hollywood legends Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson revealed the nominees for the The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA)'s 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards. 

The full-list of nominees for the 52nd NAACP Image Awards were announced today in a special virtual event on NAACP Image Awards’ Instagram channel hosted by Tony-award winning actress and singer Anika Noni-Rose, actress and singer Chloe Bailey, actress Erika Alexander, actor, dancer, and choreographer Nicco Annan, and actor and singer TC Carson.

On Tuesday, Feb 2nd at 10:00 am PT / 1:00pm ET, the nominees for this year’s 52nd NAACP Image Awards will be announced virtually on the NAACP Image Awards’ Instagram. Tony-award winning actress and singer Anika Noni-Rose (Jingle Jangle, Power), actress and singer Chloe Bailey (Grown-ish and Chloe x Halle) & more will be presenting the nominees.

The Broadway League and the American Theater Wing have revealed that the delayed Tony Awards ceremony will be scheduled “in coordination with the reopening of Broadway.,” and that the voting will take place from March 1 to March 15.

Nominees for the 31st Annual LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards were announced today and some familiar Broadway names are among the nominations.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation has announced that the 2020 Joe A. Callaway Awards will be awarded to Danya Taymor for excellence in directing for Heroes of the Fourth Turning (Playwrights Horizons) and Travis Wall for excellence in choreography for The Wrong Man (MCC Theater).

The Theatre World Awards Board of Directors, Dale Badway, President, has announced, today, the 76th Theatre World Awards Ceremony will take place when Broadway returns. Hosted annually by theater journalist, Peter Filichia, the 76th Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony will be produced by Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors.

United Solo named Sir Ian McKellen as the winner of the 2020 United Solo Special Award. McKellen was awarded for his solo performance, “Ian McKellen on Stage: Tolkien, Shakespeare and You!”, which toured across the United Kingdom last year before coming to London’s West End for a limited run.

When announcements about the 2020 Tony Awards began earlier in the fall, buzz circulated that The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing were looking to hold the event before the end of the year. Now the timeline remains unclear.

2020 has proven to be an exceptional year for the Tony Awards and the nominees in the category of Best Original Score are equally exceptional. In a category usually dominated by musical scores, all five nominees in the category come from plays.

It's been a while since the lights of Broadway have lit up New York City, but hope is on the horizon and another year will not pass without a celebration of all that happened before the shutdown. This morning, Jeremy O. Harris' Slave Play made Tonys history as the most Tony-nominated play ever, with twelve nominations. Following close behind is The Inheritance, with eleven nominations.

The Moulin Rouge! star earned his first nomination this morning as the only person in his category- Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. So does this mean he will definitely take home a Tony? Not necessarily...

It's Tonys time! The 2020 Tony nominations will be announced on October 15 by Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart. A date for the ceremony has not been set, but it will likely happen in early December.
