BrodwayWorld has learned that Lempicka will close on Broadway this May. The production has struggled to find an audience and has had grosses well below those needed to sustain a Broadway musical of its size.

Lempicka, the sweeping new musical portrait celebrating the gripping true story of renowned artist Tamara de Lempicka, has collaborated with Sotheby’s, the world’s premier destination for art and luxury, in celebration of the renowned artist and the Broadway production.

During last night's performance of Lempicka, the new musical now playing on Broadway, the show's standby for the title role, Mariand Torres, took the stage without ever having rehearsed the show with the cast. Check out a video ehre!
