Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the promotion of one member and appointment of five new dancers to the Company and 14 new Second Company dancers.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents Works & Process Rotunda Project: Dance Theatre of Harlem at 50 on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 6:30pm & 8:30pm.

This season, witness the power of creative movement as Music Worcester presents two productions at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Dance Theatre of Harlem performs on Friday, November 15 at 8 pm and The Russian National Ballet performs Giselle on Friday, March 13 at 8 pm. Tickets to both events go on sale to theatre members on Tuesday, September 10 at 10 am and go on sale to the public on Tuesday, September 17 at 10 am.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the powerful, theatrical fable, a?oeMlima's Tale,a?? written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and directed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos, from October 1 a?" 19.  This is the first production of the play since its world premiere Off-Broadway last year.

InterSchool Orchestras of New York Presents Its Gala Celebration: A TRIBUTE TO HOWARD JOHNSON Featuring Taj Mahal, Gravity, The Levon Helm Horns, the Beartones, and Students of InterSchool Orchestras of New York InterSchool Orchestras of New York (ISO) is proud to announce its 2019-2020 gala celebration, A Tribute to Howard Johnson, at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Hall, September 18, 2019 at 7:30 pm. The special event will honor the musical legend, who, in his five-decade career, has played alongside luminaries in multiple genres and pioneered the voice of the tuba in jazz. The event will also feature the talents of two-time Grammy-winning musician Taj Mahal and students of ISO. All proceeds from the event will support financial aid and scholarships for ISO students.

Erin Johnson, Interim Artistic Director of Velocity Dance Center has been selected to attend the distinguished National Dance Presenters' Forum at Jacob's Pillow. This four-day dance leadership development intensive is held at Jacob's Pillow's 220-acre site in Western Massachusetts, July 10-13. The second annual Forum, reinstated in July 2018, is developed in collaboration with key partners from across the U.S. and designed to be a catalytic opportunity for early career dance presenters. Erin was selected through a critical and rigorous interview process to join a cohort of 15 early-career dance presenters from around the U.S. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, recipient of the National Medal of Arts, and home to America's longest-running dance festival.
