Wharton Center’s 2026–2027 has announced thier Broadway and Performing Arts Season. Tickets can soon be purchased without a subscription. Wharton Center will host another season of highly-anticipated Broadway touring productions.

Theater Resources Unlimited will hold its Writer-Producer Speed Date, pairing writers with producers for one-on-one pitch sessions and coaching in a virtual format.

The Tony-nominated actor and Tony-winning producer, known for DEATH OF A SALESMAN and CLYBOURNE PARK, joins the Harlem theater company's leadership team.

54 Below will host a lineup of performers including Britani Bateman with Lagoona Bloo, Claybourne Elder, Charles Busch, Ute Lemper, Linda Eder, Orfeh, and Jeanna de Waal, alongside a Frank Sinatra tribute concert and other cabaret acts.

The current production at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace is Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story. It was the first of the jukebox musicals premiering in 1989.  It was conceived and written in England. It ran in London’s West End for 12 years. An interesting fact: Paul McCartney holds the copyright to Buddy’s music. He supported the idea and the show was produced.

Second Stage Theater just announced complete casting for the upcoming Broadway premiere of THE FANTASTICKS, directed and  choreographed by Christopher Gattelli.  The company of THE FANTASTICKS will feature Maxim Chlumecky (Appropriate, Harry Potter and the Cursed  Child) as The Boy (Matt), Kevin del Aguila (Some Like It Hot, Frozen) as The Man Who Dies (Mortimer), David  Patrick Kelly (Once, The Warriors) as The Old Actor (Henry), Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer (Spamalot, Beetlejuice) as Matt’s Mother (Mildred Hucklebee), Nathan Levy (& Juliet, Aladdin) as The Boy (Lewis), Ruthie Ann Miles (Sweeney Todd, The King and I) as Lewis’ Mother (Bessie Mae Bellomy), Zane Phillips (“The Comeback,” “Mid Century Modern,” Fire Island) as The Narrator (El Gallo), and Ahmad Simmons (Illinoise, Hadestown) as The  Mute. Mr. Phillips will be making his Broadway debut.  

Dance Theatre of Harlem will tour the U.S. and make its Morocco debut in Rabat October 2–3, 2026, before its 2027 New York season at City Center April 1–4.
