Creative Cauldron Stage has announced the launch of its “Bold New Voices” Festival, running from April 11th through May 9th, 2026.  The festival will offer audiences a unique opportunity to participate in the artistic process.

I have always been tantalized by the triple threat talent of Vanessa Williams. Ever since I sat with my family and saw her on television singing “Happy Days are Here Again” to become the first Miss America of color, she has become an artistic and cultural presence in my life. At pivotal moments of life experience, her recordings, television appearances, stage appearances, and concerts have become an integral part of my artistic consciousness. As a gay person, I instinctively sensed that she would understand me if she ever met me. Little did I know that she would meet me after a concert and pose for a great picture or that I would be writing this feature story on her well-deserved Signature Theatre Sondheim Award at the Sondheim Award Gala in Washington, DC. (held at The Anthem venue on March 16, 2026).

Today’s subject Julie Benko is currently living her theatre life onstage at Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) playing the iconic musical theatre role of Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls. The show runs through January 8th, but Ms. Benko will be departing the show on December 28th. Read on to see what her next project is.

Season 3 of the Palm Springs Cultural Center's always sold-out Broadway’s Best…In The West concert series, Executive Produced by Dr. Tom Truhe and presented by the Palm Springs Cultural Center now has tickets on sale. I AM HARVEY MILK, based on the life of American LGBTQ+ activist, will see the West End’s Joel Harper-Jackson and Broadway’s Sierra Boggess lead a 50 strong choir and 26-piece orchestra for two special performances of Andrew Lippa’s oratorio at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 27 October 2024. 

Special guest vocalists Rob Houchen, Christine Alladoo, Amy di Bartolemeo, Oliver Tompsett, Lucie Jones, and Stuart Matthew Price will join internationally acclaimed songwriter SCOTT ALAN live at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 10 November 2024 at 6.30PM.
