Review: DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS at Seacoast Repertory Theatre
by Dan Marois
- Mar 16, 2026
There’s one thing that the Seacoast Repertory Theatre knows how to do very well. It’s transforming their intimate, brick-walled space in Portsmouth into a world that feels ten times its actual size. Their current production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels—the 2005 musical based on the Steve Martin/Michael Caine film—is a fun, high-energy farce, delivering a cocktail of sophisticated wit and unapologetically lowbrow humor that pleases like a French martini.

by Michael Quintos
- Feb 20, 2026
Initially billed as a show that was 'lovingly ripped off' from the 1975 cult classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the Tony Award–winning 2005 Broadway musical comedy MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT™ gleefully gallops back onto the stage in a brand new production with its signature coconut-clacking bravado, irreverent wit, and steadfast commitment to theatrical absurdity very much intact. The show's latest national tour—replicating its 2023 revival directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes—continues its short week-long engagement at OC's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through February 22, 2026 (the show is also scheduled for the Hollywood Pantages Theatre from March 24 through April 12).

Set in the American South of the 1920s and 1940s, Bright Star tells a story about love, loss, and the things we carry with us whether we want to or not. When Alice Murphy, a literary editor, meets a young soldier just home from World War II, something shifts. That meeting opens a door Alice has kept closed for a long time, and once it cracks open, there’s no turning back.
