Cause Celebre Productions’ public reading of Susan Charlotte’s play 'THE PEOPLE VERSUS LENNY BRUCE' will take place at The New York Society for Ethical Culture. 

Ronnie Marmo will bring I’M NOT A COMEDIAN… I’M LENNY BRUCE to the Scherr Forum for two performances. Directed by Joe Mantegna, the one-man play examines the life and legacy of the influential comic.

With his silver-tongued signature and very droll manner, he launches into a nightmarish description of a stroll uptown replete with rats, feces, homeless drug addicts and children selling Chicklets. The harangue is intermixed with “Native New Yorker,” a 1977 soul dance hit.
