Since transforming the Playhouse Theatre in 2021, Cabaret has been the toast of London, with thousands of audience members flocking to the revival of Kander and Ebb’s iconic work. Recently, we had the chance to speak with Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada, who will be taking over the role of Emcee Sally Bowles, respectively. We discussed what it is like to be returning to London together, and even what they both hope audiences take away from this production of Cabaret.

The Tony Award-winning production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club ends its run on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre on September 21, 2025 after 18 preview performances and 592 regular performances. The next show to play the August Wilson Theatre has not yet been announced.
The High Stakes of Broadway Recasting

Recasting a star who is above the title of a musical is a tricky endeavor. That balance of someone who artistically fulfills the role and someone who can sell enough tickets to be worthy of the above-the-title placement is a complex one, and it seems to becoming a more and more common trend recently for shows, particularly star-driven revivals, to not do a second casting, even if they are financially successful.
