This morning, The Hollywood Reporter (THR) hosted its annual Women in Entertainment Breakfast Gala at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, honoring singer-songwriter Adele and actor, producer and activist Kerry Washington for their contributions and impact within the industry. Inspired by creator Tracy McMillan’s life, the series follows a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist, social media influencer and single mom, Paige Alexander (Kerry Washington), whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad, Edwin Alexander (Delroy Lindo), gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son.

Readers will spend an evening with one of Hollywood's most influential stars for an intimate conversation spotlighting her experiences both on and off-screen. Kerry Washington will take audiences behind the scenes of her extraordinary life - as an artist, an advocate, an entrepreneur, a mother, a daughter, a wife, and a Black woman.

“Reasonable Doubt' is from executive producers Raamla Mohamed, Kerry Washington and Larry Wilmore. Morris Chestnut (“The Best Man”) has been served to join the sophomore season, alongside series regulars Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, Tim Jo, Angela Grovey, Aderinsola Olabode and Thaddeus J. Mixson.

Hollywood Records released UnPrisoned, the original score soundtrack for Onyx Collective’s hit new series now streaming on Hulu. The score was composed by legendary Grammy-award winning music producers and songwriters Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. The series is executive produced and stars the award-winning actors Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo.

Washington will give readers a look into her public and private worlds—as an artist, an advocate, an entrepreneur, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a Black woman.

The drama series - from writer and executive producer Raamla Mohamed, and executive producer and director Kerry Washington - is produced by ABC Signature and streams exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. Mohamed leads an all-Black writing staff on the series. “Reasonable Doubt” stars Emayatzy Corinealdi, McKinley Freeman, and more.

Former WME partner Holland is set as senior vice president of Scripted Series, along with seasoned producers Anil Kurian and Janice Park, who will both serve as vice presidents of Scripted Series. All three will report to Tara Duncan, president of Freeform and Onyx Collective.

Onyx Collective announced today that it has picked up “Unprisoned” as its first scripted comedy series. From creator Tracy McMillan. The eight-episode series is produced by ABC Signature and will be streamed exclusively on Hulu in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other territories.

Washington is set to star and executive produce under the Simpson Street banner, along with her head of development, Pilar Savone. The series is Simpson Street’s first Audible Original production. Audible Inc., the leading creator and provider of premium audio storytelling, today announced three scripted multi-cast Audible Original productions with Emmy winning Simpson Street Productions, helmed by Kerry Washington (Scandal, Little Fires Everywhere) and Simpson Street EVP and producer Pilar Savone (Django Unchained, Death Proof).

The new special will feature John Lithgow, Kevin Hart and more reenacting 'The Facts of Life' and 'Different Strokes'. The first two installments featured all-star casts recreating episodes of “All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons” in spring 2019, and an additional classic episode of “All in the Family” and “Good Times” in winter 2019.
