Broadway's Best Shows

Unmissable programming, inspiring youth work and a unique architectural restoration project are all underway at Trinity Theatre this season as this leading cultural centre approaches its 40th anniversary. 

This year we're taking a look at some of Broadway's best shows to see where they land in the holiday equation. Since handsomely orchestrated songs built around specific feelings and happenings are kind of our thing, let's see which of our favorite shows can be tied to some of our most timeless Christmas tunes!

The “Spotlight on Plays” series will conclude on Thursday, June 17 with Sarah Ruhl’s Dear Elizabeth starring Academy Award winners Kevin Kline and Meryl Streep with stage directions voiced by Polly Noonan.  Dear Elizabeth will premiere on Thursday, June 17 at 8PM EST/5PM PST and will be available for a limited time only.

Tonight, May 20 (8pm ET) 'Spotlight on Plays' series will continue with Wendy Wasserstein's The Sisters Rosensweig starring Jason Alexander, John Behlmann, Lisa Edelstein, Kathryn Hahn, Kathryn Newton, Tracee Chimo Pallero, Chris Perfetti and James Urbaniak. The Sisters Rosensweig will be available for a limited time only.

The “Spotlight on Plays” series just announced the full company for Wendy Wasserstein’s The Sisters Rosensweig starring Jason Alexander, John Behlmann, Lisa Edelstein, Kathryn Hahn, Kathryn Newton, Tracee Chimo Pallero, Chris Perfetti and James Urbaniak.

This Thursday, April 29 (8pm ET) 'Spotlight on Plays' series will continue with Paula Vogel's The Baltimore Waltz, starring Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack, Brandon Burton and Mary-Louise Parker, and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz.  Paula Vogel's comic and dramatic fantasia based on the love and adventures of a brother and sister, one of whom has a fatal disease. Winner of the 1992 Obie Award for Best New American Play.

The “Spotlight on Plays” series has announced Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack and Brandon Burton will join previously announced star Mary-Louise Parker in Paula Vogel’s The Baltimore Waltz, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz.  The Baltimore Waltz will premiere on Thursday, April 29 at 8PM EST/5PM PST and will be available for a limited time only.

On Thursday, April 8 at 8pm ET,  'Spotlight on Plays' will continue with Pearl Cleage's Angry, Raucous and Shamelessly Gorgeous. Camille A. Brown (Choir Boy) directs Debbie Allen as 'Betty,' Phylicia Rashad as 'Anna,' Heather Alicia Simms as 'Kate' and Alicia Stith as 'Pete.'
